Leesun Ceramic Tiles Co. is situated out on Matel Road, right across from the Amardham Temple in the village of Matel, under the Wankaner taluka. It’s an interesting spot because you have the quiet of the temple nearby and the busy energy of our tile business at the same time. You can often hear the bells from the temple while we are loading up trucks in the yard. The road out here gets a lot of traffic, with people coming for prayer and others coming for business. We have a lot of space for our tiles, and it usually stays pretty full. It isn’t the most polished place, just a big area with stacks of ceramics and a small office where we handle the paperwork. Sometimes the dust from the road gets into everything, so we spend a lot of time just keeping things tidy enough to work. We have a small crew of local guys who know the business well. We don’t do a lot of talking about what we do; we just do it. If someone stops by, we show them what’s in stock and that’s about it. Life in Wankaner moves at its own pace, and we just follow along with it. The seasons change, the temple festivals come and go, and we just keep on with the tiles. It is a steady way to live for us.
