S. M. Industries

We are at 2614 in Phase 4 of the Gidc Estate. This part of the estate stays pretty noisy because of all the metal workshops nearby. Our building is a simple industrial shed with a heavy sliding door that sticks when it gets humid. Most of our days are spent on the concrete floor handling machines and trying to keep things moving along. There are oil stains on the ground that never really come out no matter how much we scrub them. A small desk sits in the far corner where we keep the phone and stack the bills. Dust is a constant problem because of the trucks driving past on the estate roads every few minutes. When the power goes out, which happens sometimes, we just sit outside on plastic chairs and wait. The neighbors are mostly other small shops doing the same kind of manual work we do. We don't bother with a big sign or any fancy decorations. People usually find us because they know the address or someone else pointed them this way. We open up early and stay until the work for the day is finished. It is a lot of physical labor and the ceiling fans don't do much to cool the place down in the middle of summer. We just keep our heads down and get through the tasks. That is just how we run things at S. M. Industries.
