If you come down to Phase-4 and look for Plot No. K-1-2016/1, that’s where you’ll find Umang Electricals. It’s a compact space filled with wires, switches, and all sorts of electrical components. We started this place because we knew the trade. It isn't a shiny showroom. There are boxes stacked up to the ceiling in some corners. Sometimes the light in the back flickers, which is funny considering what we do, but we haven't gotten around to fixing that specific one yet. We spend a lot of time counting out small parts for people who drop in. The air smells a bit like copper and plastic. We’ve got an old radio that mostly plays local stations while we work. It keeps the energy up during the long afternoons when it gets hot under the tin roof. Our workbench is scarred from years of use. We aren't trying to be the biggest company around. We just want to make sure the folks who come to K-1-2016/1 leave with the right fuse or cable. It’s a bit crowded inside, especially when a delivery arrives and we have to shuffle everything around to make room. We're just regular people working hard in the heat of Phase-4. We take our breaks when we can and keep the doors open for anyone passing by. It can be a lot of manual work moving those heavy cable spools from the delivery truck.
