Royal Hardware Stores

Our store is at 172, Trichy Main Road in Veppur. Being on the main road means we see a lot of people passing through on their way to other towns in Cuddalore Dist. We are in the Vriddhachalam Taluk, which is a place with a lot of farmers and builders who need hardware supplies. The shop is packed from floor to ceiling with bins of nails, hammers, pipes, and all sorts of things you’d need for a house or a farm. It’s a bit of a maze inside, but we know exactly where every single bolt is kept. We don't have a computer system to track everything; we just remember it or check the shelves. The dust from the Trichy Main Road often blows into the shop, so we are constantly dusting off the boxes. It is a family-run kind of feel here, even if it’s just a regular hardware store. We talk to the customers about their projects and sometimes give advice on which tool might work better for them. The heat in Veppur can be quite intense in the summer, so we keep the fans running all day long. It isn't a glamorous job, but it is a necessary one for the local community. We open early in the morning for the workers and stay open until the evening rush is over.
