Tata Power Company

Kothavalasa Town is where we are located. Our spot is D. No: 1-9/4, right across from the railway goods shed. You can hear the trains coming and going all day long. It’s a dusty part of the Vizianagaram district, but it’s where we belong. Tata Power Company has been operating out of this building for a while now. The pin code is 535183 if you're sending a letter. We have a few rooms filled with cabinets and ledgers. It’s not air-conditioned throughout, so we feel the heat. The goods shed across the way is always busy with workers and trucks. It gives the whole area a sense of movement. Our office is a bit quieter, but the sound of the tracks is always in the background. We have a small porch where we keep some potted plants that struggle in the sun. Inside, the furniture is sturdy but definitely shows its age. We aren't here to impress anyone with a fancy lobby. We are just here to do the job. The local tea stall is where we spend our breaks. People in town know us, and we know them. It’s a simple life here in Kothavalasa. We take the work seriously, but we don't make a big fuss about it. We have some old maps of the district pinned to the wall, and the desks are always covered in folders. It feels like a real workplace. We have a small cat that visits the shed sometimes.
