Our shop is number 9 in the New IDSMT complex in Vizianagaram. This is a pretty busy commercial area, so there is always something going on outside our door. The complex itself has a lot of different businesses, which means there is a constant flow of people moving around. Our office is a compact space, filled mostly with desks and filing cabinets where we store all the paperwork for the chit funds. It’s not a place for lounging; it’s a place for work. Vizianagaram can be quite loud during the day, with all the honking and people shouting in the market, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We keep a few chairs for people who come in to pay their monthly amounts, but usually, it’s a quick in-and-out kind of thing. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few local staff who know how to handle the books. We don't put much stock in fancy decorations or making the office look like a bank. It’s just a shop in a complex where we manage money for the local groups. Sometimes the lights flicker when the grid is struggling, but we just keep writing by candlelight if we have to. It’s a very normal, everyday sort of place. We just focus on keeping the math right and making sure the records are up to date for everyone involved.
