Neelam Castings

You can find Neelam Castings down at No.13, near Peenya 2nd Stage. We are part of the Byraweshwara Ind Est in Viswaneedam. Peenya is a big place, and it’s easy to get lost if you don't know the turns. Our shed is pretty basic. It has high ceilings and plenty of floor space for the molds and the metal. The heat from the furnace makes the place warm, even when it’s raining outside. We have a small corner for the paperwork, but mostly the action happens out on the floor. It’s loud and it’s gritty, but that is the nature of casting work. We started out with just a couple of guys and some basic tools. Now we have a few more people, but the way we work hasn't changed much. We show up early, get the fire going, and stay until the last pour is done. The road outside can be a mess after a heavy rain, with all the trucks digging up the dirt. But we don’t mind the grime. It’s an industrial estate, after all. People here work hard and we fit right in with the rest of the shops. There is no air conditioning here, just the big doors rolled up to let the breeze in. It’s an honest way to spend the day. We like the grit of Viswaneedam. It is not pretty, but it is where we do our best work every day.
