Our site is out in Bawulavada, near Anakapalle. If you are coming from Matturu, you’ll find us easily enough. Venkata Sasi Stone Crushers is a basic operation. We take the big rocks and break them down into smaller ones for building roads and houses. It is a very loud environment. The crushers run for most of the daylight hours. We have a small crew of guys who have been with us for a long time. They know how to handle the machines and keep them running even when they get stubborn. The dust is everywhere, so we all wear scarves around our faces. We don't have a fancy office or a receptionist. If you want to talk to us, you usually have to find me near the main machine or in the little shed we use for shade. We've been in the Anakapalle area for quite a while. The demand for stone never really stops because there is always some construction happening nearby. We don't do any big advertising. We just wait for the trucks to show up. Sometimes it's a slow day and we just spend it doing maintenance. Other days, there is a line of lorries waiting at the gate before the sun is even up. We just take it as it comes. It's a living, and it's what we know how to do best out here. We just focus on the rocks and the work without much fuss.
