We’ve been here at Banker’s Street in Madurai for a while now. Dealing with water stuff isn't always pretty, but it’s what we do every day. The crew usually shows up early, gets the gear ready, and heads out to whatever site needs us. Most people in the neighborhood probably see our trucks passing by without thinking much of it. It’s hot here, and water is always a big deal for everyone in the city. We spend a lot of time looking at pipes and tanks. Some days are longer than others, especially when something breaks unexpectedly or the weather doesn't cooperate. We aren't trying to be fancy or anything. Just some regular people working with water systems. The office isn't much to look at, just a place to keep the files and have a cup of tea between jobs. We know the roads around here pretty well by now. It’s just how things go. You get used to the smell of the equipment and the sound of the pumps running. If you walk past C-3, you’ll probably hear someone talking about a valve or a filter. It's just steady work that needs doing, and we're the ones doing it here in Madurai. Not much more to it than that. We just keep the wheels turning and try to make sure everything runs like it's supposed to. We have a few old desks and some chairs that have seen better days, but they work fine for us. Sometimes we sit around and talk about how the city has changed since we started. It’s a lot of manual work and checking gauges.
