Varun Watches Pvt Ltd has been operating on the Main Road in Kancharlapalam for a good while. Visakhapatnam is a busy city, and being on a Main Road means there’s never a dull moment outside the window. We see all kinds of traffic and people passing by all day long. The shop itself is a straightforward place. We have our counters and the display cases for the watches. We don't use any fancy lighting or high-end displays. It’s just the watches and us. A lot of our day is spent talking to customers who need a battery changed or a strap fixed. We also have some people who just come in to browse and talk about the weather. It’s a very local atmosphere. We’ve been at this Visakhapatnam location for years, so we’ve seen the kids in the neighborhood grow up. The business is a family-sort of thing, even if we are a private limited company on paper. We don't have a big mission statement or anything. We just open the doors in the morning and hope to be helpful to the people of Kancharlapalam. The salt air from the coast sometimes makes things rust faster, so we have to stay on top of keeping everything clean. It’s a steady job and we are glad to be part of the community here on Main Road. There is a small tea shop nearby where we usually go for our afternoon break.
