Surendra Farm

Our farm is tucked away on Nalla Mandu Street in Mangalavaripeta. The address is 9-17-286, though most people just look for the big gate and the trees. It’s a bit of a trek from the main part of town, which makes it nice and quiet for the most part. We spend our days out in the dirt, dealing with whatever the season brings. Sometimes it’s too dry and we worry about the water, and other times the rain won't stop and everything gets muddy. That is just life on a farm, I suppose. We grow what we can and take care of the land as best as we know how. It’s not a large-scale operation with big machines; we still do a lot of the work by hand with help from a few local guys who have been with us for years. My boots are usually covered in mud by ten in the morning, and the dogs are always running around the yard. We sell what we produce to the local markets and sometimes directly to people who stop by the gate. There isn't a proper office here, just a small shed where we keep the tools and some old chairs for when we need a break. It’s honest work that leaves you tired at the end of the day, but there is something good about seeing things grow from nothing. We don't plan on moving or changing things anytime soon.
