Site Engineer

My name is K. Ramana and I’m based out of Janguluru village in the Atchuthapuram area of Visakhapatnam. I work as a site engineer. This isn’t a corporate job with a tie and a desk. I spend my time on the ground, literally. My village is quiet, but there is always some work happening in the district. I go where the projects are. Sometimes that means being in Atchuthapuram for the whole day or traveling further out. I handle the technical side of the construction. Making sure the measurements are right is the main thing. I grew up around here, so I know the local people and how they like to build things. It’s often hot and the air from the coast can be humid. I don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team. Most of my work comes from people just talking to each other. If I do a decent job on one house, someone else asks me to help with theirs. It is very basic. I carry my tools in a bag and my drawings are often a bit folded up from being carried around. I’m just a guy who knows how to read a plan and make it happen in real life. It’s a busy life, but it’s what I know. We don't make things more complicated than they need to be. It's about bricks, mortar, and being there on time.
