Ritu'S Photography

Down in Seethamadhara is where Ritu'S Photography is based out of. It’s a nice residential area with a lot of families, which makes it a good spot for what we do. The studio is a converted space that we’ve filled with different backdrops, some lights on tall stands, and a lot of camera gear. We spend a lot of time adjusting the umbrellas and making sure the batteries are charged for the next shoot. There’s a large computer monitor in the corner where we sit for hours at a time, looking at photos and making small adjustments to the colors. The room is usually kept a bit dim so we can see the screen better. We have a cupboard full of various props like old chairs, some artificial flowers, and pieces of fabric that we use for portraits. Most days involve people coming in for passport photos or families wanting a nice picture together. We also spend time packing up the gear into bags to go out for local events or weddings. It’s a mix of being very still while editing and being very active when we are out on a shoot. The coffee here is usually cold because we forget to drink it while we are working. It’s a creative space but it’s also just a regular job where we try to capture things as they look. We spend our evenings backing up files and cleaning the lenses for the next morning.
