R.B. Engineering Works

We've been here in Kachrapalem for a good while now. The shop is at Dr.No. 36-93-21/1 in Indhira Nagar. It’s mostly just us working on machines and fixing parts that people bring in. Usually, it's pretty noisy and there is grease everywhere, but that's just how engineering shops are. We started small and stayed that way because it works for us. People from around the neighborhood know where to find the gate. Sometimes the power goes out, or we’re backed up with too many small jobs, but we get through it. We don't have a big fancy office or anyone sitting at a front desk. Most days, I’m just out back with the guys. If you walk past Indhira Nagar, you’ll hear the lathes running. It isn't a complicated setup. We just handle the metal work and try to keep things moving. We’ve seen a lot of changes in the area over the years, but the workshop stays about the same. It’s hard work, and by the end of the day, everyone is tired. We don't spend much time on the computer or writing things down, we'd rather be out there fixing whatever broke. It’s just a regular place doing regular jobs for local folks who need something repaired or made. We keep our tools sharp and the floor mostly swept, though the dust always finds its way back in.
