Rastriya Ispat Nigam Limited/ Visakhapatnam Steel Plant

This office is located at 302-A in Sector-7 of Ukkunagaram. Being in the township of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant means life follows a certain pattern. Most of us here have a long history with the plant in one way or another. It’s a government job, so there’s plenty of paperwork and specific ways of doing things that haven’t changed in years. Our office isn’t much to look at, just a standard room with old desks and filing cabinets that are probably older than some of the staff. We spend our time managing the day-to-day requirements that come with running such a large steel operation. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the right people get the right information. The air around here always feels like it’s part of the industry, and we’ve grown to like that. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a polished image. We just want to make sure the work is done correctly so the plant keeps running smooth. It can be a bit repetitive, but there is a sense of pride in being part of something so big. We usually have the radio on low in the background and someone is always bringing in snacks to share. It’s a simple, honest way to work, and we wouldn't have it any other way in this sector. Every day we just show up and handle the tasks as they come.
