Our place is Parvathi Medical & General Stores and we are situated at 47-1-46/1, Main Road in Dwaraka Nagar. If you know the area in Visakhapatnam, we are right opposite the Sankaramattam Temple. It is a very busy spot especially on festival days when the temple is crowded. We sell medicines but we also keep general stuff like toothbrushes and hair oil. Most of our customers are people who live in the nearby streets of Dwaraka Nagar. They come in with their prescriptions and we do our best to find what they need. The store is filled with rows of glass bottles and white boxes. It’s a bit cramped behind the counter but we know where everything is kept. The hum of the ceiling fan is the only constant sound other than the traffic outside on the Main Road. We’ve been here for years and have seen the city change quite a bit. Sometimes people just stop by to ask for directions or to get a bottle of cold water. We don’t do any big promotions. We just open the doors in the morning and wait for the day to start. Vizag can get very humid so we try to keep the shop cool for the medicines. It’s just a humble business run by local people for the community. We use the address 530016 for all our mail and supplies. It’s a simple setup really for everyone.
