Maya Textiles

Maya Textiles is located over at Dabagardens here in Visakhapatnam. Most days start the same way with opening the shutters and letting some air in, though it gets humid pretty fast. This shop has been part of the area for a while now, right on that busy stretch of road at dn-30-15-140. We have stacks of different fabrics and clothes piled up on the shelves. It isn't a fancy place with big lights or anything like that. It’s just a regular shop where we spend our time. People walk in from the street, maybe they are looking for a specific color or just want to see what is new. We spend a lot of time just moving things around and making sure the dust doesn't settle too much. If you know Vizag, you know how busy this spot gets. Sometimes the traffic outside is so loud we have to raise our voices to talk to the people inside. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us here making sure things stay organized. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the cars go by. Other days, like during the festival times, it gets a bit chaotic and we can barely keep up with all the folding. It is hard work but it is what we do. We like being in this part of town because everyone passes through here eventually. We just keep things simple and do our work every day.
