The Main Road is always full of traffic, so there is a constant hum of engines and horns outside our door. Inside, it’s a bit quieter. We have rows of frames on the walls and the machines for checking eyes in the back room. People come in mostly because they can't see the news on the TV like they used to, or their kids are squinting at the blackboard in school. We spend a lot of time helping people pick out glasses that don't look too weird on their faces. It’s a lot of trial and error. Some people take an hour just to pick one pair. We don't mind, though.
