Jindal Stainless Ltd (Located At Jajpur,Orissa,India)

Our setup is located at 6-10-32/1 in Chinnawaltair, which is a nice enough part of Visakhapatnam. Even though the name says we are located at Jajpur in Orissa, this Andhrapradesh office is where a lot of the coordination happens. It’s a bit of a bridge between the two states. Jindal Stainless Ltd is a big name, but in this room, it’s just a few of us trying to make sense of the schedules. The ocean isn't too far away, so you get that salt in the air sometimes, but we are mostly looking at spreadsheets. We handle the communication for the Orissa plant from here. It’s a lot of back and forth on the phone and emails that never seem to end. The office is a bit cramped with filing cabinets and someone’s half-eaten lunch usually sits on a side table. We don't try to look like a big city corporation. We just want to make sure the steel from Jajpur gets to the right people without too many headaches. People come in and out, mostly talking about logistics or the latest news from the plant. It's a steady life. We don't have fancy mission statements on the wall, just a calendar and some maps. Some days are slow and we just chat about the heat, other days it’s a mad rush to get things out. We’re just regular folks doing a job. The work is what matters to us, not the appearance of the office.
