We are based over in Plot No. 32 in the Gajuwaka industrial area. Pedhagantyada is a busy part of town with a lot of plants and factories around us. Dealing with fly ash is what we have been doing since we set up here. It’s not the cleanest job in the world, but it’s what we know. The site is always buzzing with activity, mostly trucks coming in and out to pick up loads. Being in an industrial estate means we are surrounded by other businesses doing similar heavy work. Starting out small, we just kept at it over the years. The office is small and usually has a bit of grit on the desks, no matter how much we clean. That’s just life in Gajuwaka. A small crew handles the daily operations. Most of them live nearby, so they don’t have a long commute. A lot of time is spent monitoring the piles and making sure everything is loaded up for the builders and contractors who need it. It’s a practical business without much use for fancy titles or long meetings. Usually, we just talk over the noise of the machinery. The noise is constant, but we like the work. It keeps us moving and provides for our families.
