Gayatri General Stores

If you are driving along Nh-5 in Visakhapatnam, you will find us near the Punjab Hotel. We are also quite close to the 6 Town Police Station, so there are always plenty of people moving around this area. Gayatri General Stores is a place we built to serve the local community and the travelers on the highway. It is a busy stretch of road and things can get pretty loud with all the trucks and cars. We sell the usual things you would expect from a general store, from snacks and cold drinks to small household items that people run out of. The shop isn't very large, but we make use of every inch of shelf space we have. Working near the police station means we see a lot of the officers stopping by for a quick snack or a bottle of water during their shifts. We stay open pretty late because the highway never really sleeps. Sometimes it is a bit tiring to be on your feet all day, but seeing the familiar faces of our neighbors makes it okay. We handle all the chores ourselves, like sweeping the front and checking the expiry dates on the milk and bread. It is a simple, honest business. We don't use any fancy sales tactics. We just tell people the price and give them their change. It is just a regular part of life here on the Nh-5 corridor in Vizag.
