Ayyappa Medical & General

Our shop is located in Old Gajuwaka on Nh-5, right near Padmaja Hospital. Being next to a hospital means we see a different side of life than most shops. People come to Ayyappa Medical & General often looking for things they need urgently for a family member who is unwell. We keep both medicines and general items because when someone is staying at the hospital, they need more than just tablets. They need soap, towels, and maybe some juice or biscuits. It is a serious kind of work, and we try to be as helpful as we can without making a big fuss. The traffic in Gajuwaka is always heavy, and the dust from the highway is a constant battle for us. We spend a lot of time wiping down the glass counters. We have been in this spot for years and the local doctors and nurses know us well. Sometimes we stay open later than planned if we see someone coming from the emergency ward who looks like they need help. It is not an easy job, especially when you have to find a specific medicine in the middle of a busy afternoon. But it is our livelihood and we take it seriously. We don't have any corporate backing or a big team. It is just us working behind the counter, making sure we have what the neighborhood needs.
