Our place is out at Plot Nos. 2D and 2E in the A.P.S.E.Z area, near Moturupalem Village in Atchutapuram. It’s quite a long way from the main city of Visakhapatnam, so the commute can be a bit tiring for some of the staff. Being in the Special Economic Zone means there’s a lot of security and big fences everywhere. We deal with rare earth materials, which sounds more exciting than it actually is on a daily basis. Most of the time, it’s just a lot of monitoring equipment and checking bags of material. The facility is large and open, and since we’re in Andhra Pradesh, it gets incredibly humid during the summer. We spend a lot of time drinking water and trying to stay cool. The village of Moturupalem is just down the road, so it’s a mix of modern industrial space and very quiet rural life. We have a lot of safety rules we have to follow because of the materials we handle, so everyone is always wearing their gear. It’s a very practical environment. We don't have a fancy lobby with chairs; it’s mostly just functional space for the work we do. The team is a mix of people from the local villages and some who come in from the city. We just focus on getting the daily tasks done and making sure everything is handled correctly before the trucks leave.
