Our office is at D.No.14/225-4-S, which is right behind the Judge Quarters in Revenue Ward No.8. Subhayasri Saree Producer Company Limited is a place where we focus on sarees, obviously. It’s a producer company, so we work directly with the people making the garments. Being near the Judge Quarters makes the area feel a bit more official and quiet, which is nice for when we are doing our accounts. We have stacks of sarees in all sorts of colors piled up on the shelves. Sometimes the colors are so bright they almost hurt your eyes in the morning sun. We spend a lot of time talking to the weavers and seeing what they have ready for us. It’s a lot of coordination because everyone has their own schedule. We aren't a big factory or anything like that. It’s more of a collective effort to get these clothes out to the shops. Sometimes we find a small mistake in the weaving and we have to send it back, which is always a bit of a hassle. The office gets a bit crowded when the new stock arrives and we have to find space for it all. We usually have some local music playing in the background while we work. It’s a good atmosphere and we all get along well enough. We’re just trying to run a decent business and keep the saree tradition alive.
