Sivajipalem is a decent area in Vizag. Our place, Kandupati Coffee Roasters Private Limited, is at D No. 9-6-97. It’s a residential-cum-commercial zone with a lot of movement. You get many students and families living in the apartments around here. The coffee roasting happens right in this space. It’s a manual process for the most part, not automated by fancy computers. We spend our mornings checking the beans and making sure the machines are clean. The address isn't hard to find if you know the Sivajipalem main road landmarks. We aren't trying to be the biggest coffee company in Andhra Pradesh. We just like what we do. The 530017 area has changed a lot over the years with more buildings coming up. Our space is very functional and not meant for showing off. We have sacks of green coffee beans stacked in the corner near the entrance. The smell of roasting coffee usually fills the immediate air around our door. Some neighbors say they like it, while others probably don't even notice it anymore. We don't have a big sign with bright lights on it. Just a small board so people know they are at the right place. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and keeping track of the orders coming in. Sometimes the heat from the roaster makes the whole room very warm, so we keep the windows open. It’s a straightforward business. We don't use any complicated software, just a notebook and a basic computer for the monthly bills.
