We are over at Door No. 21/641 in No.21 Prasanthi Nagar. Indus Cashew Private Limited is a place where we spend a lot of time around nuts. There is a specific smell to a cashew processing place that you never really get used to, but it’s not bad. It just smells like work. We have a small crew here. Most of the time, you can hear the sound of sorting and cracking. We don't have a giant headquarters or anything like that. It’s just this building in a neighborhood where we do our business every day. Some days the supply is good and we stay busy from morning until late evening. Other days, we might be waiting on a delivery. We don’t really do the whole corporate thing with meetings and long speeches. We just talk over tea in the morning about what needs to get done before the sun goes down. The people working here are mostly locals who have been doing this for years. They can tell a good nut from a bad one just by the weight or the sound it makes on the table. It is practical work that requires some patience. We just keep our heads down and try to run a decent operation here in Prasanthi Nagar. It’s not a complicated life, but it keeps us all busy and the wheels turning. We just worry about the quality of the sorting and keeping the bags moving.
