We’ve been here on Kattabomman Street for a while now. Most people around Virudhunagar know where we are. It’s not a fancy office or anything, just a place where we get the work done. The team usually starts early because of the heat. We deal with water stuff mostly. It can get pretty busy with all the paperwork and site visits. Sometimes the fans don't work right and we just open the windows. There are a few of us in the office, and then the guys who go out to the plants. It isn't always smooth sailing, things break down or parts take forever to arrive from Chennai. We just try to keep things moving. We eat lunch together mostly, someone usually brings something from home to share. The street outside can get quite noisy in the afternoons. It is just how it is here. Most of our days are spent on the phone or looking at drawings. We don’t really do much advertising, word of mouth seems to work okay for us. It’s a steady kind of life. If you walk past the shop on the corner, we are just a few doors down. Nothing too exciting happens, but we stay occupied. People stop by to ask questions about their water systems or just to say hello. We keep a ledger for everything, though the computer is used more often these days. It is a bit cramped inside with all the files stacked up.
