We are over at number 82 in RR Nagar, Sivagami Puram. It’s a quiet enough area most of the time, which suits us just fine. Our trading business isn’t anything elaborate. We have a small office and a space for keeping the goods we move. It’s mostly about buying and selling stuff in bulk. We don't have a fancy showroom or a place for customers to sit and have coffee. Most of our work is done over the phone or by standing at the doorway talking to the drivers. The building is just a standard brick structure that we’ve used for years. The paint is peeling a bit near the bottom, but we don't mind. We keep our records in big ledger books and some old folders. It’s a bit cramped inside when we get a large shipment, so we have to shuffle things around to make a path. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so we try not to make too much noise early in the morning. We know the other shopkeepers around here and we usually share some tea in the afternoon. It’s a steady kind of life. We don’t have big goals of expanding; we just want to handle our daily trades and go home. We’ve been here a long time and seen the neighborhood change slowly, but our little office stays pretty much the same. It’s a bit dusty and the chairs are old, but it works for us.
