SHYAM Special School Rajapalayam

Located at 41/D/1/1 Ponnagaram in Kr Nagar, our school is a quiet corner of Rajapalayam. We are right here in the Virudhunagar district, where the air feels a bit different than the big cities. At SHYAM Special School Rajapalayam, our days are filled with small moments. We have a few rooms where the children spend their time, and we try to keep things as calm as possible. It is not a huge place, but it is ours. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood drifting in—the occasional bike passing by or someone calling out on the street. We focus on the daily tasks, helping the kids with their basic needs and teaching them whatever we can. Some days are harder than others, and things do not always go according to plan. That is just how it is when you are working with people. We use whatever materials we have on hand. The walls have some drawings on them, and the furniture is simple. We do not have a lot of fancy equipment, but we make it work. Most of us live nearby, so we know the families in Kr Nagar well. It feels like a small community inside these walls. We just show up every morning, open the doors, and get to work with the children. It is a quiet life, but it keeps us busy enough to keep going.
