You can find us over at Indra Nagar in Settiarpatti. It is part of the Rajapalayam area down in Virudhunagar district. The sun is usually pretty hot here, so we keep the fans going all day in the office at 55H2. We are just a small group of people doing the construction work for the area. It is not some fancy high-rise place; it’s a ground-level office where you can just walk in from the street. We spend a lot of our time making sure the materials are moving and checking on the nearby sites. The desks are wooden and have a lot of scratches, and there are stacks of paper everywhere. We don’t use any big words to talk about our work. We just see what needs to be done and go out to do it. Most of the people working here grew up around these parts and speak the local language. We know the shopkeepers and the drivers by their names. It is a very tight way of working. Sometimes the paperwork takes longer than the actual building, which can be annoying, but it’s part of the job. We aren't trying to look impressive to anyone who visits. We are just focused on getting the structures up and making sure they stay up. It is honest work for us. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for years and we like it that way.
