Jothi Trading Company

We are located at 74, Thalaiappan Street. It is a busy street with lots of other shops and businesses around us. The building is old but sturdy, and we have been here for many years. Jothi Trading Company is basically just a few of us in a room filled with ledger books and samples. There is a lot of noise from the street outside—horns honking and people shouting—but we do not mind it anymore. It is just part of the day. We do not have a fancy website or a big marketing team. Most people find us just by walking down the street or through people they know. We spend the morning checking our stock and the afternoon dealing with the deliveries. The floor is concrete and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for what we need. We sit on old wooden chairs and use desks that have been here since we started. It is a local way of doing things. We know most of the people who walk past our door. We just try to get the orders right and keep the business going one day at a time. It is simple work but it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk. We close up the shutters in the evening and head home, ready to do it all again tomorrow. It is a simple life but it is our life.
