Down here in Virudhunagar, in the Kullorchandai area, we’ve got our office on East Street. The address is 2/527-1. It’s a rural kind of place, surrounded by a lot of open land and fields. Sustainability is what we focus on, so being out here makes a lot of sense for us. We see a lot of the local farming and how the weather affects things firsthand every season. Our building is a simple one-story structure that we've been in for years. It’s got a bit of a yard where we sometimes try out different planting ideas or just sit for a break. Inside, it’s mostly just a couple of rooms with some basic furniture we picked up locally. We don't have high-speed internet that works all the time, so we have to be patient with the computers and the phones. We spend a lot of time talking to the local folks about their land and water usage. It’s not a desk job where you sit still all day long. We’re often out and about in the neighborhood. The dust on East Street can be something else when the trucks go by, so we keep the windows shut most of the time. We keep a few water pots inside to stay hydrated during the day. It’s a quiet life compared to the big cities, but there is always plenty of work to do. We don't have a big budget for fancy things, so we make do with what we have and keep going.
