Down on Tiruchuli Road, near the Valavanthamman Temple, that’s where you’ll find us. The temple is a big landmark, so we just tell people to look for that. Our address is 259, and it’s a pretty basic building. The road outside stays busy with buses and cars going back and forth. Inside, it’s usually humming with the sound of the ceiling fans. We’ve got a small team here. Most of us have worked together for years, so we don't need to say much to know what needs doing. The waiting area fills up fast in the mornings. We try to keep the queue moving, but sometimes things take longer than expected. That’s just how medical work is. We don't have a fancy coffee machine or a plush lounge. Just water from the cooler and some old magazines on the table. The nurses are usually running around with clipboards. We see a lot of people from the local neighborhoods who prefer coming here instead of going into the bigger city centers. It feels more personal that way. The nights can be quiet, or they can be very loud depending on what happens on the road. We stay ready for whatever comes through the door. It’s a simple life, focused on the people who live around Tiruchuli Road. We aren't trying to impress anyone, just doing the work. The dust from the road gets in sometimes, but we keep cleaning.
