Vital Primary & Nursery School

Vital Primary & Nursery School is tucked away in Manjakkuppam, Cuddalore. If you know the area, it is not hard to find us. We have a small building that stays quite cool even when it is humid outside. Most of our students are very young, just starting out with nursery or the first few years of primary school. You hear a lot of singing and repeating words coming from the classrooms in the morning. We have some drawings and alphabets painted on the walls to make it look a bit more cheerful for the kids. The yard is small, but there is enough space for them to stand for the morning prayer. Cuddalore gets a lot of rain during the monsoon, so we sometimes have to deal with leaks or wet floors, but we just mop it up and keep going. The teachers live nearby, so they usually walk or come by scooty. It is a very local atmosphere where everyone knows each other’s business. We have a few old cupboards full of old records and teaching supplies. It is not a high-tech school with tablets or anything; we use chalk and talk. Parents often stop by the gate to have a quick chat with us about how their child is doing. It is just a normal, small-town school trying to do a decent job with the resources we have.
