Sujatha Hospital

Located right on Nethaji Road in Cuddalore, our hospital is a place that never really sleeps. Being opposite the Manikoondu landmark makes it easy for folks to find us, but the noise from the street is always there, even late at night. The building has been here for years, and you can see it in the way the floors have worn down in the main hallway. We’ve got nurses running around most of the time, and the waiting area stays pretty full with families from all over Pondicherry and the surrounding villages. It isn't a glossy corporate building with glass walls. It’s more of a functional space where the fans are always humming to beat the coastal heat. We deal with all sorts of things, from small scrapes to people who are really quite sick. Sometimes the paperwork gets backed up at the front desk because there are just too many people to check in at once. We do our best to keep things moving along, though sometimes things take longer than we’d like. The staff eats their lunch in small shifts because someone always has to be available. It’s a bit chaotic, honestly, but that’s the reality of a busy hospital in a place like this. We know the neighbors, and they know us, which makes the long shifts feel a little less exhausting at the end of the day.
