Rajah Muthiah Medical College, Annamalainagar

This medical college has been a big part of Annamalainagar for quite a long time now. It is a large campus in Chidambaram, and there is almost always something happening at any hour of the day or night. You will see students in their white coats rushing between the hospital wards and the different lecture halls. It can be a bit of a maze if you aren’t used to walking these halls every day. The buildings are getting a bit old, and some of them show their age with some cracked paint or stains here and there, but they are still solid. We have a lot of different departments and clinics where people from all over Cuddalore come for their checkups and treatment. It isn't just a school for learning; it’s a place where real work happens 24 hours a day. The staff is usually pretty tired, but they just keep going because they have to. We don’t really have much time for fancy talk because the workload is always heavy. In the canteen, you can hear everyone talking about their upcoming exams or their patients over quick meals. It is a very busy life here. The corridors are long and they usually smell like floor cleaner and disinfectant. We do our best to keep everything running as smoothly as possible, even when the power goes out or the equipment acts up. It is a very practical environment. We have had thousands of doctors train here over the many decades we have been open.
