Kannan Hospital

Our place is located at 17 Bashyam Street in Cuddalore. It’s a pretty standard street for this area, with houses and small businesses all mixed together. The hospital sits right in the middle of it. We’ve been operating out of this building for a long time, and you can tell by the way the steps are worn down in the center. It’s got a bit of character. Inside, we have a few different wards and a small area for outpatient visits. Cuddalore can get quite hot in the summer, so we have fans going in every room to keep the air moving. The staff usually wears light scrubs and we all know each other’s schedules by heart. There’s a small desk near the door where people sign in. We don't use any fancy digital systems for everything; a lot of it is still done with pen and paper in big binders. Sometimes the noise from the street—horns honking or people talking—drifts in through the open windows. We don't mind it much. It makes us feel like we're part of the neighborhood. Patients come in from all over Cuddalore, and we try to get to everyone as they arrive. There’s no big waiting hall, just some benches along the wall. It’s simple and honest work we do here on Bashyam Street, and we just take each day as it comes, one patient at a time.
