Harshitha Traders

Harshitha Traders is at 56, Main Road in Neyveli. This is a pretty straightforward spot to find if you are driving through the main part of town. The shop has been here for a bit, and we’ve become a part of the daily scenery for people living nearby. We deal in various goods, and the shop is usually filled with the sound of bags being moved and people talking. Neyveli can get quite hot, so we usually have the door wide open to catch whatever breeze comes off the road. The shelves are filled with stock, and sometimes it feels like we are running out of room, but we always manage to fit a bit more in. We don't have a big corporate structure here. It is mostly just us handling the customers and making sure the books are kept more or less in order. The floor is concrete and shows the wear of many years of boots and crates. We start our day before the heat gets too bad and stay until the streetlights come on. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s steady work. We know most of the delivery drivers by their first names, and they know where to leave the stuff. We don’t bother with much decoration; the products on the shelves are the only decoration we need. It’s just a regular business on a regular street, and we like it that way. Most afternoons we just sit and wait for the truck to arrive.
