You can find Prayesh Wood Craft over in Virar, specifically behind Sanjivani Hospital in the B Block of Shivam Omkareshwar Society. Being tucked away behind the hospital makes it a little quieter than the main station area, which is nice when you are trying to concentrate on a tricky cut. We have been at Plot No.B - 15 for a few years now. The space is not very large, so we have to be careful about how we stack the raw materials. We mostly work with local timber and try to make items that are sturdy. My hands are usually covered in stains or glue, and the staff here is pretty much the same. We do not wear uniforms or have a big reception desk. If you come by, you will likely find us in the middle of a project, probably wearing old shirts that have seen better days. Virar is a busy place, and we know people here want things that last without costing a fortune. We do not have any big slogans or fancy ways of talking. We just show up in the morning, drink some chai, and get to work on whatever order is next on the list. Sometimes things get delayed because of the monsoon rains, but we do our best to keep things moving. It is a local shop run by local people who just happen to know a lot about wood.
