Our office is tucked away in the Krishna Rasl Leela building, which was put up by Abrol Builders. Being in Bolinj, Virar West, means we are quite a distance from the main Mumbai hub, but it’s a lively neighborhood. The building is at B 104, and it’s a typical suburban setup. If you’ve ever been to Thane or Virar, you know how busy the local trains can be, so many of us are glad our workplace is right here. The office itself is pretty basic. We have our computers, some filing cabinets that probably need a bit of organizing, and a small area for lunch. It isn’t very quiet because there’s always something going on in the building or on the street outside. We handle a lot of the global service tasks for Citigriup from here, which keeps us busy from morning until evening. Sometimes the monsoon rains make the commute a bit of a challenge, but we manage. We aren’t big on formalities here. Most of the staff live nearby, so there’s a sense of being neighbors as well as coworkers. We just get on with the job. You won’t find any marble floors or expensive art here. It’s just a place where we do our daily work, drink way too much tea, and wait for the weekend. It feels real and grounded, which is how we like to keep things in this part of town. We are just local people doing our bit.
