Sri Bharanidharan Stores

Sri Bharanidharan Stores is located at 54, West Street in Tirukkoyilur, and we have been working out of this building for quite a while now. The shop is on a street that gets fairly crowded in the evenings when everyone is out running errands. It is a traditional setup with wooden counters and shelves that go all the way up to the ceiling. We have to use a small stool to reach the jars on the top. We keep mostly dry goods here, things like different grades of rice, sugar, and spices that we weigh out for people. The smell of the place is a mix of turmeric and raw jute because of all the bags piled in the corners. The front of the store is open to the street, so we get a lot of dust that we have to wipe off the jars every morning before the sun gets too high. It’s a simple routine of opening up, checking the ledgers, and seeing what we are running low on. Sometimes the supply trucks arrive late, and we have to wait around on the sidewalk to help unload. We don’t have any fancy displays or bright signs. It is just a place where we sit and wait for the local regulars to stop by for their daily needs. The light inside is a bit dim, but we know exactly where everything is kept.
