About Om Sakthi Coffee Works – Food & Beverages in Viluppuram
We’ve been here at Beckers Complex for a while now. Most mornings start with the sound of the grinder. It’s a loud machine, but it gets the job done. The smell of coffee beans fills up the space pretty quickly. Marakkanam Road is usually busy, especially when schools open. We spend most of our time weighing out packets and talking to the people who walk in. Some regulars don’t even have to say what they want anymore. We just know. It’s a small shop, and things get a bit messy with the dust from the beans, but that’s just how it is. My hands always smell like roasted coffee by the end of the day. We try to keep the shelves tidy, but when several people come at once, we just focus on getting them their powder. It’s not fancy here. There’s no big sign or anything special, just the counter and the bags. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit to start the motors again. People in Tindivanam know where we are. We don't do much advertising. We just open up, grind the seeds, and pack them. It's steady work. My father used to do this before me, and I just kept it going. The floor needs sweeping twice a day because of the spills. That's life at the shop. I think we’ve been on this road for twenty years or so now.
