Selvam Store

Selvam Store is located right on Polur Road in Vadugasathu Village. Living in Arani Tehsil means things move at a certain pace. We are in Tiruvannamalai District, and you can see the shop easily from the main road. It is just a simple building. I handle most things myself. The morning starts with unloading crates and making sure the front area is clear for customers. Since we are in Vadugasathu Village, everyone knows everyone else. People stop their bikes on Polur Road to grab something quick on their way to the fields or back home. We keep the usual things on the counters. It gets a bit noisy with the traffic passing by, but that is how it is. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just use the natural light from the doorway. I have been here a while now. The shelves are mostly filled with stuff for the house. It is a practical life, nothing like the big shops in the city. We deal with the local weather and the dust from the road. If someone needs a bag of sugar or some oil, they come here. It is just a shop in Arani Tehsil. There are no big signs or bright lights. Just the name Selvam Store and the stuff people buy every day. We stay open until it gets dark, then I lock up and go home. It works for us.
