Narmodhas Drinking Water

We are over on Mel Anchaneyar Koil Street in Devasamudram. It’s right at number one, so we are easy to spot once you get onto the street. The temple is close by, so we hear the bells and see the crowds on festival days. It’s a lively neighborhood to work in. Most days, we are busy moving crates and checking the bottles. It’s physical work and it keeps us on our feet. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoon, so we usually keep the shutters halfway down to stay cool. We aren't a big corporation with a marketing team. It’s just a few of us making sure the drinking water gets to where it needs to go. We know most of the people on this street by name. Sometimes people stop by just to rest for a minute in the shade. We don’t mind. Our records are mostly kept in big notebooks because that’s how we’ve always done it. It’s faster than trying to fix a computer when the internet is acting up. We focus on the basic stuff. Making sure things are clean and the deliveries are on time. It’s a simple routine, day in and day out. We don’t need much else to keep things running properly here in Devasamudram. It is what it is, and we just keep at it until the day is done. We are glad to be part of this little street.
