Maintenance In Axon Drugs (P) Ltd., Semparampakkam, Poonamalli

This is regarding the maintenance work I do for Axon Drugs over in Semparampakkam, though my home base is at No.8, Kesava Naicken Street in Villupuram. It’s a bit of a commute, but that’s how it goes. Working in a pharmaceutical setting means the maintenance has to be very precise. You can’t have dust or leaks anywhere. I spend a lot of time checking the filters and the seals on the machines. It’s a different kind of pressure than regular house maintenance. Back at the Villupuram address, I keep my personal notes and some smaller tools I like to use. Kesava Naicken Street is a familiar place for me, a bit of a break from the sterile environment of the factory. I’ve been in this line of work for several years now. I learned most of it on the job, watching older guys and seeing how the machines actually behave when they’re running all day. I don't have a big philosophy about it. I just show up, do the checks, and fix what’s starting to wear out before it actually breaks. It keeps the production line moving. Sometimes the hours are long, especially if a main machine goes down in the middle of a shift. My family is used to me coming home late with grease on my shirt. It’s just a regular job that needs doing, and I’m the one doing it. Villupuram is where I rest, but the factory is where the real work happens every day.
