Kamala Store

Kamala Store is a small place located at 5/213, Kallakorai. It is not a very big shop but we try to keep it stocked with the things people need. We live nearby so we are usually open pretty early in the morning. The shelves are a bit crowded and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what you are looking for. We have everything from soap to snacks piled up. The address 5/213 is right in the middle of the residential area, so we see the same faces every day. It’s more like a community spot than a business sometimes. We spend a lot of time talking to the neighbors about the weather or local news. The counter is small and usually has a cat sitting near it or some empty crates stacked up. Kallakorai is a nice enough place but it gets dusty in the summer. We use a small hand fan when it gets too hot inside the store. There isn't any air conditioning or anything like that. We just keep the door open. Most of our customers just want to grab something quick and head home. We write down the accounts in a big notebook that is falling apart at the edges. It’s not a high-tech store by any means. It’s just us at number 5/213, keeping the lights on and making sure there is milk and bread for whoever stops by.
