You can find us at number 9 on Avual Pattarai in Santhur. This is a small mill where we grind wheat, ragi, and other grains into flour. We have been in this spot for quite a while now. The whole place is white with flour dust, from the rafters down to our shoes. It is just the way a mill looks when it is working hard every day. We have a few different grinders for different types of grains so the flavors don't mix up too much. People bring their own containers or bags and we fill them up right after the grinding is done so the flour is still a bit warm. It smells really good, like fresh bread before it is even baked. The noise from the belts and the motors is constant during the day, so we have to speak loudly to hear each other. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the address and the name over the door. The floor is concrete and we spend a lot of time sweeping it so the dust doesn't pile up too thick. It is a simple operation run by a few of us who grew up around here. We don't use any fancy computers to run the machines, just old-fashioned switches and manual adjustments. It works fine for what we do and the customers seem to prefer it that way.
