Andavar Modern Rice Mill

Andavar Modern Rice Mill is right on the Main Road in Vikravandi, at number 65. You can’t really miss it if you’re driving through town. The sound of the machinery is a constant part of our day. It’s a loud place, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We spend our time processing grain and making sure everything is running the way it should. There’s always a layer of fine dust over everything, no matter how much we clean. That’s just the nature of a rice mill. We have a few local workers who have been with us for a long time. They know the machines better than anyone. We get loads coming in from the nearby farms, and there’s always a bit of a rush during the harvest season. The Main Road location is handy for the farmers to bring their tractors in. We don’t do anything fancy here. It’s just hard work and long hours when the rice is coming in thick. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to spend the afternoon fixing it ourselves. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s important for the area. We’ve been part of the Vikravandi landscape for a while now, and we plan to stay that way, just doing our job every day on the Main Road. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until night.
