Altratech Cement

Out here in Vitor Village, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. We are part of the Arunkhodar Sakti Department for Altratech Cement, located right here in Taluka Abha within the Kutch District. It’s a dry area, and the wind blows a lot of dust around the site. Working at a cement facility in a place like this means you get used to the heat and the open landscape. We handle a lot of the local distribution and management for this part of the district. The village is quiet, but our department is usually buzzing with trucks coming in to pick up loads. Most of the people working here are from the nearby areas, so everyone knows everyone else. We don’t have much in the way of fancy amenities. It’s a functional place meant for moving product and keeping track of the inventory. Sometimes the power goes out, or the roads get difficult after a rare heavy rain, but we just deal with it as it comes. It is hard work, especially when the summer hits its peak, but there is a certain rhythm to it that I like. We focus on getting the bags loaded and the trucks moved out so the local builders have what they need for their projects. We aren't trying to change the world, just doing our part out here in the dust and heat of Kutch day after day.
