Mahalakshmi Poultry Farm

Down here in Ganjipally Village, things move a bit slower than in the city. Mahalakshmi Poultry Farm is located at Sy. No. 114/A, and it is basically where we spend all our time. If you head out toward Doma Mandal in the Vikarabad District, you will eventually run into us. It is a lot of work keeping up with the birds. They don't take a day off, so neither do we. Every morning starts before the sun is even up, checking the water and making sure the feed is right. It gets pretty loud sometimes, especially when they all decide to make noise at once. The air smells like the countryside, which I guess you get used to after a while. We aren't trying to do anything fancy here. We just keep the farm running and make sure the eggs and birds are looked after properly. The road out here isn't the best, especially when it rains and things get muddy, but we manage. My family helps out because there is always something that needs fixing or cleaning. It is a dirty job, and my clothes usually have feathers or dust on them by noon. We sell to people nearby and some bigger trucks that come through every few days. It is just a regular farm, nothing more, nothing less. We just try to get through the daily chores and keep everything organized as much as we can.
